Waxing Care Guide

Things to know BEFORE your waxing appointment.

• EXFOLIATE the area that is going to be waxed, 1-2 days before your wax. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and helps to reduce ingrown hairs. Exfoliating during a warm shower helps to soften the skin. We HIGHLY recommend exfoliating with Bushbalm products. We sell these here in the studio or ask us how to purchase online and get 20% off. 
• CLEAN the day of the appointment. Also, please bring clean, fresh undergarments to your appointment to change in to after your wax, especially if your appointment is in the afternoon or evening. 
• Avoid ALCOHOL and CAFFEINE for at least 24 hours as this can increase sensitivity by rushing blood to the surface of the skin and also cause inflammation.
• You can take Tylenol or Ibuprofen before your wax to help with pain. 
• Dress COMFORTABLY, and avoid tight clothing! You want to be sure to bring comfortable, loose clothing for after your appointment to avoid friction on your skin. 
• BREATHE

Things to know after your waxing appointment.

• 24 hours after your wax appointment please NO FRICTION, NO SWEATING, NO INTERCOURSE, NO STEAM OR HEAT THAT WILL CAUSE SWEATING, NO BATHS OR HOT TUBS OR SWIMMING POOLS, NO HARSH CHEMICALS, NO EXFOLIATING, AVOID TIGHT CLOTHING, KEEP AREA CLEAN (everything that touches the freshly waxed area needs to be clean. Please change undergarments, change sheets, change pillow cases etc.)
• After 24 hours please follow the recommended wax care for the best results in between waxing appointments. 
• Exfoliate with recommended products every 2-3 days while taking a warm shower. 
• Use recommended post wax serums or oils, DAILY, within 2 minutes of getting out of the shower. 
• Please keep up on your in between wax appointments (every 2-3 weeks) as well as your regular wax appointments (every 4-6 weeks). A tailored waxing schedule will be discussed with you during your first wax appointment.
